In agreement with Defence, DHA will be upgrading all 153 houses in Seaward Village.

DHA has an agreed Upgrade Option selected after consultation with key stakeholders and Defence. Each property has been individually assessed to determine what level of upgrade is required.

Parliamentary approval for the upgrade works was granted on Wednesday 14th June 2017. Works commenced in Seaward Village in October 2017.

DHA and Defence will endeavour to minimise the impact of the program on members and their families and keep them advised of the works through regular and consistent communication.

The agreed upgrade option for Seaward Village is expected to take place over a period of three years. This option, selected by stakeholders and residents, will allow work to be contained in one area of the village at a time, minimising disruption to all residents.

This will provide:

  • Increased safety for residents (in particular children)
  • Increased security as contractors will be contained to manageable sections within Seaward Village
  • Reduced impact of noise and dust.

The proposed images are indicative, but reflect the general approach of the Agreed Upgrade Option.
